My eyes need to be checked… I’m seeing double.
The founder of TwitPic just launched his Twitter clone called Heello today. In an interesting move it looks pretty much exactly like Twitter. Sure the color scheme is slightly different, but can definitely see a resemblance; if imitation is the sincerest form of flattery then Twitter should be really blushing.

Interesting, eh? I’m pretty sure this isn’t just a passing resemblance. If Apple can sue Samsung for copying it’s tablet technology look and feel, this really looks like a lawsuit ready to happen. There’s some superficial differences:

However using the system is pretty much the same its predecessor. For example @<name> is how you reference people; hashtags are used to create tags for your
There’s a land grab happening where people have already secured accounts based on popular Twitter names regardless if they should have them or not. For example someone grabbed @cnnbrk and posted several false breaking news stories, so authenticity of messages is already in doubt. The biggest question though is will people flock to the service over Twitter?; unlike Google+, I’m not sure it has the same cachet or has introduced any significant improvements that make this service better than its rival.
